WeeReel ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform, including when you sign in using Google OAuth.

By using WeeReel, you consent to the data practices described in this policy.

1. Data Accessed from Google

When you sign in with Google, WeeReel accesses:

  • Basic Profile Information: Your name, profile picture, and email address
  • Email Address: Used as your unique identifier and for account recovery
  • No Additional Scopes: We do NOT request access to your Google Calendar, Drive, Contacts, or any other Google services

2. How We Use Your Data

We use the Google user data we collect for the following purposes:

  • Create and manage your WeeReel account
  • Authenticate your identity when you sign in
  • Display your profile information to other creatives on the platform
  • Enable casting calls, project matches, and creative collaborations
  • Communicate with you about opportunities, messages, and platform updates
  • Improve our matching algorithms and platform features

Note: We do NOT sell your Google user data to third parties.

3. Data Sharing

We share Google user data only in the following circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: When you choose to share your profile with other users on WeeReel
  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party services (like Supabase for authentication) that help us operate the platform
  • Legal Compliance: If required by law or to protect our rights

Important: We do NOT share your Google user data with advertisers or marketing platforms.

4. Data Storage & Protection

Your data is stored securely using:

  • Encryption: Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest
  • Supabase Platform: We use Supabase, which is SOC2 Type II compliant, for authentication and database storage
  • Access Controls: Only authorized personnel have access to user data, and only when necessary

5. Data Retention & Deletion

Retention Period:

  • We retain your account data as long as your account is active
  • If you stop using WeeReel, we retain your data for up to 12 months before deletion

How to Request Deletion:

  • Email us at privacy@weereel.com with "Delete My Data" in the subject line
  • Or contact us through your account settings (coming soon)

We will respond to deletion requests within 30 days and confirm when your data has been removed.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing
  • Export your data in a portable format
